Pacific Grove Unified School District is dedicated to providing a quality instructional program in a positive, safe, and stimulating environment. With a focus on equity, the district aims to challenge every student and meet the diverse needs of all learners. The district serves approximately 2,000 TK-12 students across its five schools, which include two elementary schools (K-5), one middle school (6-8), one high school (9-12), and one continuation high school (9-12).

In addition, the adult school serves around 2,000 students. Elementary students are assigned a school based on their address within the district. Homes from the north side of Sinex Avenue to the shore attend Robert Down Elementary School, while homes from the south side of Sinex Avenue to and including Pebble Beach attend Forest Grove Elementary School.
