The Poetry Foundation is the oldest monthly magazine dedicated to verse in the English-speaking world, founded in Chicago by Harriet Monroe in 1912. For over a century, Poetry magazine has provided poets and readers with a gathering space to connect and explore contemporary work. The magazine publishes a diverse range of poetry in English and translation from poets all around the United States and the world.


In addition to its print publication, Poetry offers a digital app and a biweekly podcast, making its entire archive of poetry and prose available online for free. Some of the most well-known poems of the twentieth century were first published in Poetry's pages, showcasing the literary contributions of writers like Gwendolyn Brooks, E. E.


Cummings, T. S. Eliot, Sylvia Plath, and Langston Hughes.
