About

Description

Project Vision Hawaii is a community-driven organization that aims to provide accessible and comprehensive vision care services to the people of Hawaii. Founded in 2007 by Dr. Michael Bennett, a renowned ophthalmologist specializing in retinal surgery, the organization has grown significantly over the years.

With the guidance of top vision care experts in Hawaii, Project Vision has expanded from one mobile screening unit to ten units that serve various islands, including Hawaii Island, Kaua`i, Lāna`i, Maui, Molokai`i, and O`ahu. What sets Project Vision Hawaii apart is its dedication to serving communities facing barriers to healthcare access. The organization offers the only mobile health screening programs in Hawaii that address challenges related to income, lack of insurance, geographical location, or cultural conflicts.

To date, Project Vision has delivered free medical screening services to over 115,000 patients across the state, focusing on seniors, low-income children, immigrants, and individuals with disabilities. By spreading the gift of aloha through sight, health, and wellness, Project Vision Hawaii continues to make a positive impact on the lives of the people of Hawaii.
