Rutgers is a brand dedicated to promoting sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) in the Netherlands and worldwide. In January 2011, Rutgers Nisso Groep and the World Population Foundation merged to form Rutgers. As a non-grant-receiving full Member Association of IPPF, Rutgers works towards the promotion of equal sexual treatment, the protection and improvement of SRHR, and the emancipation of vulnerable groups with specific SRH needs.

Their efforts include education, prevention, counseling, and policy development through scientific research and the creation of practical resources. Rutgers produces teaching packages, websites, books, and brochures to disseminate knowledge and support various target groups. They also conduct disciplinary education courses for youth sex offenders, provide training for healthcare professionals, and research and prevent gender-based violence (GBV).
