About
Description
Ramsey-Washington Metro Watershed District is a special-purpose unit of government established in 1975 under the Minnesota Watershed Act. With a mission to manage approximately 65 square miles of watershed, including 20 lakes, five streams, and over 1,000 wetlands, our district works collaboratively with the 12 cities in our area, transcending municipal boundaries. As a governing body, we possess planning, regulatory, and taxing authority that enables us to coordinate watershed management efforts among city, county, and state agencies.
Our five-member board of managers, appointed by the Ramsey and Washington County Boards, leads our organization. Supported by 16 full-time employees and seasonal interns, our dedicated team drives the implementation of our ten-year management plan, crafted in consultation with local citizens and governmental representatives. Get to know us better through our informative library, which houses board meeting minutes, technical reports, and research documents.
Connect with us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube to stay updated on our activities, and sign up for our newsletter to receive important news, public notices, project updates, and more. Join us in preserving and enhancing the beauty and quality of our shared watersheds
