Sasakawa Africa Association (SAA) is a brand that works in collaboration with national agricultural extension services in Ethiopia, Mali, Nigeria, and Uganda. Their main goal is to support smallholder farmers throughout the agricultural value chain. SAA aims to increase farmers' income and improve food and nutrition security by promoting sustainable, market-oriented, resilient, regenerative, and nutrition-sensitive agricultural innovations.

They also focus on building the capacity of Extension Agents and farmers. SAA's new slogan, Walking with the Farmer, reflects their vision and ethos. They establish country offices with local residents who possess agricultural expertise and a deep understanding of the local context.

This allows them to provide need-based good agricultural practices and improved technologies to rural communities. SAA follows a participatory approach, working closely with smallholder farmers and value chain actors to understand specific concerns and establish technologies and market linkages accordingly. Headquartered in Japan, SAA has offices in Ethiopia, Nigeria, Mali, and Uganda.

They publish regular updates about their activities through their e-newsletters and publish a comprehensive history book. SAA collaborates with various partners to intensify and scale up their efforts for smallholder farmers in Africa
