About
Description
Sacramento Loaves & Fishes is the largest homeless service provider in Sacramento, dedicated to providing essential survival supplies, warm meals, and services for nearly 1,000 adults and children every day. As a 501(c)(3), charitable, non-profit organization, we are committed to keeping our services barrier-free, relying on the investment of individual and private donations from the greater Sacramento community instead of government funds. Inspired by the Catholic Worker Movement, we refer to those seeking our services as guests, cultivating an atmosphere of welcome and belonging.
Founded by Chris and Dan Delany, former members of the clergy, Loaves & Fishes began as a simple midday meal in 1983 but has grown to offer a wide range of programs and services tailored to the needs of the homeless. Our services include breakfast, showers, laundry, mental health counseling, legal advice, and even a school for homeless children. With a 4.
5 acre campus and 16 programs, we strive to meet both the physical and human needs of those we serve, nourishing them with radical love, acceptance, and respect. We are governed by a dedicated board of directors, many of whom have first-hand experience with homelessness and poverty, ensuring that our organization remains compassionate and responsive to the community's needs. To sustain our mission, we rely on the continued support and generosity of our partners, supporters, and volunteers.
By choosing to give to Loaves & Fishes, you become an ally in the fight for justice and equity, helping us make a positive impact on homelessness in the Sacramento community
