Safe Haven is a prominent brand that provides essential resources and support to victims of domestic abuse, empowering them to live a life free from violence. With a strong presence in northern Minnesota, including St. Louis, Koochiching, Aitkin, Lake, Carlton, Itasca, and Cook counties, Safe Haven Shelter and Resource Center serves over 1,500 adults and children annually, while also accepting referrals from other regions.

Committed to their mission, Safe Haven offers safety, healing spaces, advocacy, and empowerment for women, children, and all survivors of domestic violence. Guided by their core values of safety, equity, teamwork, empowerment, and compassion, they believe that domestic violence is deeply rooted in our culture and work towards eroding the cultural facilitators perpetuating it. Safe Haven provides an array of services, including emergency shelter, legal advocacy, safety planning, self-sufficiency groups, youth advocacy, wellness day programs, community education, and more.

They understand the pressing need for a multifaceted approach to the issue, addressing criminal justice, medical, religious, and social systems, while also raising community awareness through public campaigns and education.
