Sandhill Crane Vineyards, located in Jackson, MI, is a beloved family-owned and operated winery with a passion for crafting exceptional wines using 100% Michigan-grown fruit. The journey began when Norm Moffatt, a Detroit police officer, retired and decided to pursue winemaking as a hobby. His wife, sister, and two daughters soon joined in, transforming his hobby into a thriving business.

In 2003, they proudly introduced Sandhill Crane Vineyards to the public. Headed by Holly, our skilled winemaker, and her partner Kirk, the dedicated vineyard manager, our team is committed to producing wines of the highest quality. Lani and Pauline, Holly's daughters, are integral parts of the family business and have grown up within the vineyard surroundings.

We also have Shelly, a long-standing employee, who meticulously tends to the vineyard and ensures the chemistry of our wines is impeccable. Matthew, another valued member of our team, diligently assists in the cellar and performs various tasks.
