About

Description

The Sexual Assault Resource Center (SARC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting survivors of sexual assault and working towards ending sexual violence in the Brazos Valley region. Established in 1983 as the Brazos County Rape Crisis Center, SARC has since expanded its services to serve Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Leon, Madison, Robertson, and Washington Counties. SARC provides a range of critical services, including crisis intervention, counseling, advocacy, and educational workshops.

The center has trained over 1,000 volunteers and formed strong community partnerships to ensure survivors receive the support they need. Their dedicated team, led by Executive Director Lindsey LeBlanc, is committed to making a difference in the lives of survivors. In 2022 alone, SARC provided services to 526 survivors, with a significant increase in education events and partnerships aimed at preventing sexual violence.

With the support of generous donors, SARC continues to expand its reach, offering free, trauma-focused therapy and vital advocacy services. For those interested in getting involved, SARC offers various opportunities, including volunteering, attending events, and making donations. Their internship program also provides valuable experience for undergraduate and graduate students in relevant fields.

To connect with SARC or access their services, individuals can reach out through their hotline or visit their website. Together, we can support survivors and help create a world free from sexual violence
