SelfDesign Learning Foundation, based in Vancouver, BC, is a registered Canadian charity that offers programs and support for learners of all ages and abilities. Their mission is to facilitate lifelong learning and holistic personal growth, with a focus on choice and self-direction. Their vision is to create a world deeply rooted in curiosity, compassion, and learning.

The foundation provides an educational online program that is both relevant and meaningful to learners. It was founded in 1983 by Brent Cameron, who wanted to create an alternative and personalized learning experience for his daughter, Ilana. Seeing how learning naturally unfolded for Ilana through encouragement and respect, Brent and his wife Maureen decided to be her teachers at home.

This led to the creation of the Wondertree Learning Society, which operated a learner-led school called the Wondertree Centre. Over the years, the foundation has evolved and grown, but the core philosophy of SelfDesign remains the same. They believe in supporting individuals in authoring their own lives and designing their own learning.

The model encourages a deep understanding of oneself in connection with others and fosters self-agency, collaboration, and personal and social responsibility. SelfDesign is focused on shifting and challenging the standard education model by seeing learning as a circular and non-linear process that lasts a lifetime. They aim to stimulate and support critical thinking, creativity, and empathy in learners.
