The Self-Driving Coalition for Safer Streets is an association that collaborates with lawmakers, regulators, and the general public to promote the safety and societal advantages of autonomous vehicles (AVs). Comprised of companies with extensive technical expertise and experience in the technology, automobile, and transportation network sectors, the Coalition aims to harness the substantial benefits of AVs in the most efficient and secure manner possible. By uniting their diverse backgrounds, these companies have formed the Coalition to advance AVs and their potential to enhance consumer safety, mobility, and the economy.

With the U. S. Department of Transportation projecting that AVs have the potential to significantly reduce the severity and frequency of accidents and fatalities, the need for such technological advancements becomes evident.

In 2021 alone, nearly 43,000 lives were lost on U. S. AV technology holds tremendous potential to improve public safety, provide enhanced mobility for the elderly and disabled, reduce traffic congestion, enhance environmental quality, address inequity, optimize supply chains, create employment opportunities, and advance transportation efficiency.
