Description
The Seymour Volunteer Fire Department has been dedicated to a better and safer community for over 50 years. Serving the citizens of Sevier, Knox, and Blount Counties since 1971, they provide essential fire protection and emergency response services. Originally formed by business owners in Seymour, this all-volunteer department has grown significantly over the years.
With six stations, 17 vehicles, and over sixty firefighters, they are well-equipped to handle a variety of emergencies. In addition to fire suppression, the Seymour Volunteer Fire Department also offers vehicle rescue and emergency medical First Responder services. They have made significant accomplishments in the field of emergency medical response, becoming one of the first volunteer fire departments in Tennessee to be state-licensed as a First Responder agency.
With a wide-ranging service area of approximately 118. 6 square miles, the department serves over 18,600 homes, 400 businesses, 70 churches, schools, and even Johnson University. They respond to a high volume of calls each year, including emergency medical service, fires, hazardous materials incidents, and general service calls from the public.
As an integral part of the Seymour community, this dedicated department continues to prioritize the safety and well-being of its residents through their commitment to excellence and continuous training
