Entryway is a national 501(c)3 organization dedicated to providing a life-changing solution for situational homelessness. Their mission is to transition individuals and families who are at risk of or experiencing homelessness to economic self-sufficiency. They achieve this through a comprehensive program that includes career training, full-time employment, and housing opportunities in partnership with the real estate industry.

Entryway's journey began in 2014 with the founding of Shelters to Shutters (S2S) by Chris Finlay. The program initially piloted in Middleburg Communities, Charlotte, NC, and Nashville, TN. Over the years, S2S partnered with local shelters and nonprofits to identify individuals ready to work, expanding its program to include like-minded multifamily industry companies.

Their efforts were recognized when S2S was named the National Multifamily Housing Council's designated charity. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Entryway shifted its strategic direction and adopted a decentralized model. They hired local Executive Directors in Atlanta, Charlotte, Houston, Nashville, and Washington, DC.

This allowed them to expand their services to Central Florida, Greater Phoenix, Charleston, and North Texas, led by City Advisory Boards. They also implemented pre-employment training, job coaching, and post-hire mentorship programs to better support program participants. As of March 2023, Entryway has successfully transitioned over 500 individuals out of homelessness through employment and housing opportunities.

To signify their commitment to further growth and expansion, Shelters to Shutters rebranded to Entryway in June 2023.
