Sptbg. County Found., also known as the Spartanburg County Foundation, is the oldest community foundation in South Carolina. Founded in 1943 by Walter Scott Montgomery and a group of key business leaders, the Foundation has a long history of innovation, philanthropy, and community impact.

Over the past 75 years, they have granted over $161 million to nonprofits serving the needs of Spartanburg County and beyond. With over $200 million in assets and nearly 1,000 charitable funds, the Foundation is dedicated to improving the lives of Spartanburg County residents.
