Silver Spring Neighborhood Center is a community-driven organization that has been empowering families and individuals in Northwest Milwaukee since 1958. With a strong focus on education, employment, youth services, and health & wellness, the center is dedicated to helping its community members achieve self-sufficiency. Housed within an impressive facility on Milwaukee's Northwest side, Silver Spring Neighborhood Center offers a range of programs and services to meet the diverse needs of the community.

These include the Elaine Schreiber Child Development Center, Browning Elementary School, and the Silver Spring Academy, which provides tutoring and support for students at risk of failing in traditional school settings. Throughout its rich history, the center has consistently expanded its offerings and partnerships. It has a longstanding collaboration with Milwaukee Area Technical College, offering adult education classes, and a pilot program with the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee Community Nursing Center, focusing on wellness and preventative medicine.

Recognized for its positive impact, Silver Spring Neighborhood Center and its Browning Elementary School received the prestigious MANDI (Milwaukee Awards for Neighborhood Development Innovation) Award in 2004. With over 11 times the space of its original building, the center continues to serve as a beacon of hope, providing opportunities for success, growth, and community development
