About

Description

St. Louis ArtWorks is a dynamic brand that provides job training and life skills education to young creatives in St. Louis.

Established in 1995, St. Louis ArtWorks has been a collaborative partnership with Grand Center Inc., the City of St. Louis, and the Regional Arts Commission.

Their mission is to enrich the lives of the region's youth by offering art education, essential job skill training, and exposure to career opportunities through paid apprenticeships in the arts. Their programs, which are available year-round, cater to underserved youth aged 14-19. These programs combine in-depth art instruction, employment training, and life skills focused on personal health, fiscal literacy, and environmental stewardship.

The young apprentices work alongside professional artists to develop their art, life, and communication skills. They create a wide range of artwork, which is either commissioned by local companies and organizations or sold at public sales. St.

Louis ArtWorks also prioritizes diversity and inclusion, offering apprenticeships to youth of any ethnicity, creed, gender identity, and/or sexual orientation. They have successfully provided opportunities to thousands of young people, bridging economic, racial, and social divisions. Through their programs, these young creatives gain valuable experience, community contacts, resumes, and a portfolio of work, preparing them for future education and employment opportunities
