Tanja Hollander is an artist who uses photography, video, social media, and data to explore cultural and visual connections. Her work delves into the ephemeral nature of memories, focusing on the people we love and the objects that bind us together. Hollander's latest project, The Ephemera Project, is a captivating archive built through crowdsourcing, memory, self-reflection, and vulnerability.


Born in St. Louis, Missouri in 1972, Hollander earned a B. A.


Her acclaimed exhibition, book, and short documentary, Are you really my friend?, was showcased for an entire year at MASS MoCA in 2017. Selected sections were also exhibited internationally, including at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and the Carl-Schurz-Haus in Germany. Hollander's thought-provoking work has garnered widespread media attention, inspiring invitations to deliver a TEDxDirigo talk and lectures at prestigious events like SXSW and the Women's Leadership Conference.


Apart from her artistic pursuits, she is a reproductive justice advocate. Currently based in Auburn, Maine, Tanja Hollander continues to create impactful and visually compelling art that challenges our perceptions and celebrates the power of human connection
