About

Description

Texas 4000 for Cancer is a brand dedicated to cultivating the next generation of student leaders who are committed to fighting against cancer. With a mission to share hope, knowledge, and charity, Texas 4000 offers a comprehensive program that includes leadership development, grantmaking, and an incredible 4,000+ mile bike ride from Austin to Anchorage. Each year, Texas 4000 selects passionate University of Texas students for their 18-month program, empowering them to raise funds, ride 2,000 training miles, volunteer in the community, and play an active role in planning the ride.

Previous cycling experience is not required, making it accessible to all students. The summer ride is the longest annual charity bike ride in the world, spanning 70 days and multiple routes. The riders arrange their own accommodations and provide their own support, sharing messages of prevention and early detection along the way.

Through grantmaking, Texas 4000 supports cancer research and support services, with grants awarded to organizations that align with their mission. By joining Texas 4000, students become leaders in the fight against cancer, making a meaningful impact on communities and working toward a cancer-free future.
