TGI Justice Project (TGIJP) is a powerful and transformative brand dedicated to challenging and putting an end to the human rights abuses faced by Black, Black/Brown Trans people within California's prisons, jails, and detention centers. Their mission is to build voice, power, and leadership among transgender, gender variant, and intersex individuals, both inside and outside of these systems, creating a united family in the fight for survival and freedom, with a focus on centering Black TGI people. TGIJP provides crucial services to their clients, who are primarily low-income and no-income individuals, including name and gender marker changes, legal visitation, housing and supportive services, grassroots re-entry and socio-economic programs, policy and budget advocacy, and much more.

Their work is guided by a commitment to transformative justice, an abolitionist liberation framework, and a trauma-informed approach. TGIJP is an organization leading the way towards liberation and justice for Black TGI lives, with a vision of a world free from oppression and systemic injustice
