Tree Trust is a non-profit organization with a powerful vision: a thriving workforce living on a healthy planet. Founded in 1976, Tree Trust emerged from the pressing issues of high unemployment and the devastation of the tree canopy caused by Dutch elm disease in the Twin Cities. Recognizing an opportunity to combat these problems, Tree Trust began removing dead elm trees and planting new ones while providing job opportunities for those in need.

Over the course of 45 years, Tree Trust's programs have expanded to meet the ongoing needs of the community, transforming both lives and landscapes. Their mission is to engage people, helping them build skills for meaningful careers, inspiring them to plant trees, and creating a greener, healthier community for everyone. Tree Trust focuses on three core areas: Pathway to Careers, where they equip individuals with the skills and knowledge for family-supporting, skilled trade, and green careers; Planting Trees, their commitment to growing a vibrant and resilient urban forest; and Partnership, emphasizing collaboration with each other and their community.
