NewRoot Learning Institute, formerly known as Umoja Student Development Corporation, is a national social impact organization dedicated to nurturing the places we live, learn, and grow. Our vision is rooted in equity and radical love, aiming for a future where thriving spaces are co-created for youth and communities. We uplift restorative mindsets in adults through our thoughtfully tailored coaching and training solutions, meeting partners where they are and developing social-emotional wellness.

We aim to cultivate stronger roots and healthier spaces for youth and future generations. Our extensive experience includes supporting and engaging with over 50 schools annually, providing district-wide Restorative Practice Training, affiliative programming, and whole-school support such as Strategic Planning, Racial Justice Professional Development + Team Coaching, and Culturally Sustaining Curriculum. At NewRoot, we believe in setting students up for success by offering processed approaches to college and career readiness, as well as post-secondary support networks and resources.
