About

Description

Underdog Animal Rescue & Rehab is a remarkable brand that focuses on rescuing and rehabilitating companion animals from the Native American reservations in the Four Corners region of the American Southwest. As the sole organization in Utah dedicated exclusively to serving these reservations, Underdog Animal Rescue & Rehab has made exceptional strides in their mission. In just five years, they have rescued over 3,322 dogs and continue to expand their impact within the Four Corners reservations.

Underdog Animal Rescue & Rehab aims to provide veterinary care, spaying/neutering, and adoption services to these vulnerable animals. Furthermore, they actively support Native Americans in caring for their own animals. Through their tireless efforts, they envision a future where all reservation animals have access to loving homes, along with essential necessities like food, water, and veterinary care.

Determined to bridge the gap between the Navajo Nation, Utah, and the Western Slope, Underdog Animal Rescue & Rehab not only focuses on reducing the stray animal population but also aims to establish a sustainable pet healthcare system within the Navajo Nation through education and resources. Operating as a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, Underdog Animal Rescue & Rehab tackles the alarming overpopulation of stray and owned dogs on the Native American Reservations. Their Moab-based Rescue Ranch serves as the headquarters for their operations.

Katy Gullette, the Founder and CEO, possesses over 30 years of experience in animal welfare and founded Underdog Animal Rescue & Rehab in 2017 based on her firsthand observations of the desperate need within the Four Corners reservations. Underdog Animal Rescue & Rehab places a considerable focus on the Navajo Nation, which happens to be the largest reservation in the United States and located closest to their Moab facility. While most rescued dogs are housed at the Moab facility, the organization also utilizes foster homes for animals requiring additional care and socialization.

Not only do they prioritize animal welfare, but Underdog Animal Rescue & Rehab is also committed to giving back to the Native American communities they work with. They provide essential donations to the Navajo Nation, including pet food, backpacks, shoes, clothing for children, hygiene kits, and other requested items. By doing so, they strive to strengthen the bonds between non-Indigenous and Indigenous communities.

Underdog Animal Rescue & Rehab's impact extends even further through their free clinics, offering spaying, neutering, and vaccination services. These mobile clinics operate in remote areas and benefit communities by controlling the population of owned animals, curtailing the propagation of unwanted litters, and easing the burden on communities already struggling with their animal populations. You too can contribute to the noble cause of Underdog Animal Rescue & Rehab by making a donation.

This brand is not only dedicated to the welfare of animals but also to uplifting communities, fostering unity, and bridging gaps between Indigenous and non-Indigenous populations. Together, let's support Underdog Animal Rescue & Rehab as they continue to transform lives and make a difference in the Four Corners reservations
