UR (Swedish Educational Broadcasting Company) is an integral part of the public service broadcasting group in Sweden, along with Swedish Radio (SR) and Swedish Television (SVT). UR's primary objective is to produce and broadcast educational and general knowledge programs that enhance, broaden, and complement the efforts of other educational organizations. UR is funded by a public service fee collected as a tax, ensuring its availability to all.

UR holds a specific responsibility for people with disabilities and individuals from ethnic and language minorities in Sweden. In collaboration with SVT, UR operates Kunskapskanalen and also broadcasts on SR and SVT channels. The core of UR's strategy can be summed up in one term: usefulness.
