Urban Montessori is a tuition-free TK-8 public charter school located in Oakland. Inspired by the teachings of Maria Montessori, combined with Design Thinking and Arts Integration, our school offers a unique and comprehensive approach to education. At Urban Montessori, we prioritize inclusion and diversity, striving to create a school community that reflects the racial and socioeconomic diversity of Oakland. We believe in maintaining a respectful environment where all students can thrive, and where differences are celebrated and valued. Through constant dialogue and hard work, we foster a safe and open space for learning, acknowledging and challenging biases, and discussing power and privilege.
