United Way of Northeast Kentucky (UWNEK) is a volunteer-based nonprofit organization that has been making a positive impact since 1936. With a mission to improve lives in neighborhoods, schools, and workplaces, UWNEK collaborates with 65 partner agencies and other community organizations. Their focus is on the fundamental building blocks that contribute to a high quality of life - superior education, stable income, and good health.

By leveraging collaboration, programming, and a tradition of leadership, UWNEK produces results that strengthen families, nurture children and youth, promote health and wellness, and empower neighborhoods and communities. Based in Ashland, UWNEK serves Boyd, Carter, Elliott, Lawrence, and Greenup counties in northeastern Kentucky. They provide hope and safety to thousands of individuals and families through their efforts.
