About
Description
Welcome to the Virginia Holocaust Museum, where we honor the memories of the victims, celebrate the survivors, and commit to the promise of never again. Your journey begins with a powerful symbol outside our building - a German Güterwagen, an authentic freight car like those used by the Third Reich to transport millions to their deaths. As you enter, you'll notice shattered glass, reminiscent of Kristallnacht, foreshadowing the fate of German Jews.
Walking along granite cobblestones from Poland's Warsaw Ghetto, you'll follow the steel rails that once led to the Treblinka extermination camp. Inside, our core exhibits tell the complex and sobering history of the Holocaust. Along the way, you'll meet the Ipson family, survivors who rebuilt their lives in Richmond, Virginia.
Admission is free, but we suggest a donation of $6 per person to support our mission. We're located at 2000 E Cary St, Richmond, VA 23223, with free off-street parking. Visit us Monday through Friday and join us in our pursuit to fight antisemitism and keep the memory of the Holocaust alive
