The brand was established in January 2016 as a result of Angela, a journalist and a grieving child herself, recognizing the lack of resources available for children dealing with loss. Valerie's House offers open-ended peer support groups and activities to help children heal after experiencing a significant loss in their lives.

Unlike traditional counseling centers, Valerie's House fosters a sense of community, allowing individuals to come together, share their experiences, and mentor each other through their grief. This remarkable organization is the first of its kind in Southwest Florida and is modeled after the nationally-recognized Dougy Center for Grieving Children in Portland, Oregon.
