Valley Opportunity Council (VOC) is the largest and most diverse Community Action Agency in the area. With a federal designation, VOC has built a strong network of support and collaborative services aimed at empowering community members to achieve self-sufficiency for themselves and their families. Led by Executive Director Steve Huntley since 2006, VOC is committed to offering a range of programs that uplift and strengthen our community.

At VOC, we provide a variety of services to meet the needs of individuals and families. Our energy assistance programs, including fuel assistance and heating system repair, ensure everyone has access to affordable and reliable heating. We also offer comprehensive food and nutrition programs such as the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program and the Chicopee Farmers' Market.

In addition, VOC is dedicated to supporting education and childcare with our early education center-based and family-based child care services, as well as before and after-school programs and summer programs. Our adult programs, including adult basic education, citizenship classes, and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), help individuals develop new skills and improve their prospects. VOC also focuses on youth programs, offering after-school programs, summer camps, and career services through the GEAR UP and YouthWorks initiatives.

Furthermore, our housing programs provide assistance for those in need of housing or homelessness support. We also offer community outreach programs and volunteer opportunities through VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance).
