Our founder and creative director, Cindy Hussey, comes from a lineage of famous European painters, musicians, and designers, and her immaculate eye for detail is evident in our luxurious eyewear and accessories.

We pride ourselves on using high-quality materials, ensuring that our products are not only fashion-forward but also comfortable to wear. Sustainability is at the heart of our mission, and we take great care in reducing packaging waste and the carbon footprint of every Velvet product, from our warehouse to our customer's home. We also have a Recycle Program in place, where we encourage our customers to return any Velvet products for recycling and reward them for their efforts.

In addition to our commitment to the environment, we also believe in giving back to our community. We support causes such as children, the arts, and veterans, and actively participate in charitable initiatives to make a positive impact. For over 20 years, Velvet has been leading the way in female eyewear, starting in Carlsbad, California, the hub of outdoor life and action sports.

We were the first brand to develop a female snowboarding goggle, worn by Shannon Dunn in the Salt Lake City Winter Olympics. Since then, Velvet has gained recognition and caught the eye of major players in the industry, solidifying our reputation as a brand that focuses on female-specific designs. In 2006, our founder relocated to New York City and repurchased Velvet, continuing to create female-specific products for both Velvet and the K2 brands.
