Vilans is the national Centre of Expertise for Long-term Care in the Netherlands. They are well-known for their work in innovation, research and development, dissemination, and implementation of good practices in the field of long-term care. Vilans primarily serves professionals and managers in care providing organizations, as well as organizations of volunteers, user organizations, health care insurers, and authorities at various levels.

They are funded by the Dutch government and have a strong reputation for running large-scale implementation programs, such as the National Dementia Program and the Care for Better Program. Vilans has also participated in several EU projects and has expertise in digital dissemination. They are committed to improving the quality of care and strengthening the position of clients and care professionals through their programs and initiatives
