Volcanic Hills Estate Winery in West Kelowna, BC, is a family-run business with a rich history and a passion for producing world-class wines. It all began with Sarwan Gidda's dream in the 1970s to grow grapes that would create exceptional wines. This dream was influenced by his father, Mehtab Gidda, who arrived in Canada from East Punjab, India in 1958 with just $5 and a few belongings.

Mehtab's farming knowledge, acquired from growing mango trees in Punjab, proved invaluable in the fertile Okanagan Valley. The Gidda family, the first and only Indo-Canadian family in West Kelowna for 15 years, quickly established themselves as successful apple farmers. In 1978, Sarwan and his wife Sudarshana embarked on a new venture of growing grapes alongside Mehtab, eventually selling their fruit to renowned wineries in the region.

Today, under Sarwan's management, the 68 acres of vineyard continue to thrive. In May 2010, Sarwan's children fulfilled their father's dream by establishing Volcanic Hills Estate Winery.
