About
Description
The Afara Collective is an antiracism platform that aims to create real, concrete change through daily practice and personal growth. The name Afara comes from the Yoruba word for 'bridge' or 'people coming together', reflecting the brand's mission to bring people together to dismantle systemic racism. Education is a core pillar of the collective, with a focus on exploring empathy, racial bias, and systemic injustice to facilitate personal and societal growth.
The collective also empowers individuals with tools for action, self-regulation, and social accountability in the real world. Community building plays a crucial role in creating a safe space for authentic and vulnerable discussions that challenge bias and discrimination. The collective values representation and lifelong learning, acknowledging that action requires continuous education and diverse perspectives.
Founded by Jules Sanders and Liz Williams, passionate advocates for racial and social justice, The Afara Collective is committed to making antiracism a daily practice
