About

Description

We Save Land, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit established in 2002, is the only organization solely dedicated to preserving the open spaces of Park City and the Wasatch Back. With a mission to protect the landscapes that sustain our communities, We Save Land defends 49 permanent conservation easements and two preserves, encompassing a total of 13,223 acres of land. Committed to preserving the places that make the area unique, We Save Land is currently working on conserving an additional 5,000+ acres.

By collaborating, negotiating, fundraising, and problem-solving, the organization safeguards the incredible forests, trails, meadows, mountain slopes, rivers, lakes, and wetlands that attract individuals to this region. With private developments posing a threat in an area surrounded by private property, We Save Land plays a crucial role in preserving the natural beauty and resources that are essential for our lifestyle, recreation, food sourcing, and even drinking water. The organization's work also supports the local economy, as the tourism, recreation, and resort industries heavily rely on the preservation of open spaces.

By protecting undeveloped areas, We Save Land enhances property values and avoids the expenses associated with building costly subdivisions. With measurable impacts such as the protection of over 13,223 acres of land and the avoidance of 1,100 metric tons of CO2 emissions annually, We Save Land continues to make a significant impact on our environment and communities. Join the movement today and help us secure a sustainable future for our cherished landscapes
