Description
Western Foothills Land Trust is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the conservation of natural resources and open spaces in western Maine. With over 9,000 acres protected and 7 preserves, they are committed to preserving farmlands, wetlands, forestlands, and unique natural resources in the greater Oxford Hills area. Their mission is to ensure the long-term sustainability of these lands for future generations.
In addition to land conservation, Western Foothills Land Trust offers a variety of recreational opportunities. With 34 miles of trails, including groomed Nordic skiing trails in the winter, outdoor enthusiasts of all ages and abilities can enjoy hiking, biking, skiing, and more. They also host community events such as the Norway Snowshoe Festival in February and the Norway Triathlon in July.
You can support the trust by making a donation or volunteering your time.
