Description
The Wichita Family Crisis Center, formerly known as the YWCA Wichita, is a private non-profit organization dedicated to eliminating domestic violence in the community. Established in 1907, it began as a residence for single women before expanding its services to include employment aid and a lunchroom for working women. In August 1976, it opened Wichita's first emergency shelter for victims of domestic violence, with a mission to empower, strengthen, and stabilize affected families.
Today, the Wichita Family Crisis Center offers a range of services, including shelter, education, and advocacy, to over 1,200 individuals fleeing domestic violence in Sedgwick County, Kansas, every year. With an annual operating budget of over $1 million, the organization is committed to supporting survivors and creating a safer community. Join their team or contribute to their cause through donations to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those affected by domestic violence
