About

Description

WinnebagoCounty CASA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and advocating for the best interests of children within the juvenile abuse and neglect court system. With a history spanning over 30 years, they have trained and deployed more than 700 volunteers to serve over 3,600 children in Winnebago County. CASA's mission is to ensure that every child has the right to thrive in a safe and permanent home.

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) are volunteers appointed by judges to watch over and advocate for children who have experienced abuse or neglect. They ensure that these children do not get lost in the overburdened legal and social service system or languish in inappropriate homes. CASAs stay with each case until the child is placed in a safe, permanent home.

With the help of nearly 60,000 dedicated volunteers, CASA has positively impacted the lives of over two million children since its establishment in 1977. WinnebagoCounty CASA is committed to collaborating with other community agencies and court partners to address broader child welfare concerns and achieve common goals
