WMA, also known as the World Medical Association, is a renowned international organization that represents physicians globally. Established in 1947, the WMA was formed to safeguard the autonomy of physicians and uphold the highest standards of ethical conduct and care. Comprising 116 National Medical Associations, the organization functions as an independent confederation of professional associations, funded by the contributions of its members.

The WMA serves as a platform for member associations to collaborate, communicate, and establish consensus on medical ethics and professional competence.
