The Women's Foundation of the South (WFS) is a public foundation dedicated to empowering and advancing women and girls of color (WGOC) in the Southern United States. As the only permanent foundation specifically focused on centering and investing in the collective health, wealth, and power of Black, Indigenous, Latinx, and Asian womxn and girls across the entire American South, WFS raises funds and strategically invests in nonprofits and businesses across 13 states. Recognizing that Southern states consistently fall below the national average in outcomes for women, WFS aims to address the disparities faced by women of color in areas such as health, legal protection, and economic security.

By investing in women of color-led organizations and businesses, WFS believes in facilitating more just policies, generating wealth in communities, and creating conditions for everyone to prosper. Through innovative philanthropic practices, WFS is shifting the narrative for women and girls of color in the South and creating a brighter future for their communities.
