About
Description
World Possible Kenya | Eldoret is the local branch of World Possible, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. World Possible aims to bridge the digital divide by providing offline educational resources to communities without internet access. It all started in 2008 when Norberto Mujica, a Cisco Systems engineer, taught classes at a university in Ethiopia with no usable internet.
Inspired by this experience, Norberto and his colleagues founded World Possible, with the mission of making educational content accessible to all. Their flagship product is RACHEL (Remote Area Community Hotspot for Education & Learning), an offline educational server. RACHEL contains a vast collection of materials that can be accessed by students, even in remote areas with limited resources.
Over the years, World Possible has developed different versions of RACHEL, including a smaller and more affordable Raspberry Pi version. World Possible has expanded its reach to 47 countries, including Kenya, and has partnered with various organizations to implement offline education programs. They also offer RACHEL+ kits and provide support through their chapter program.
Recently, they introduced DataPost, a feature that enables quick information exchange with RACHEL devices without the need for an internet connection. With their dedication to expanding access to education, World Possible is making a significant impact in communities around the world
