About

Description

The West Suburban Humane Society (WSHS) is a volunteer-based animal welfare organization dedicated to providing care and housing for cats and dogs. Founded in 1972 as a lost-and-found referral service, we now operate at full capacity at all times, offering a safe haven for up to 25 dogs and 60 cats in our facilities, as well as additional animals in our foster homes. With the help of our two full-time and eight part-time employees, along with numerous volunteers, we are able to provide quality care to our furry residents.

Our facility is open to the public six days a week, allowing visitors the opportunity to meet and potentially adopt these wonderful animals in need of forever homes. In addition to adoption services, we offer various programs, such as humane education, shelter tours, and training resources. As a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, we rely on the generosity of our valued sponsors and donors to continue our mission of providing shelter and love to homeless dogs and cats.

Visit us in Downers Grove, Illinois, or reach out to us through our website to learn more about our mission and how you can get involved in supporting our cause. Love is just a pet away!
