About
Description
Xilloc is a pioneering brand that believes in harnessing the power of engineering and technology to revolutionize healthcare. They are committed to personalized medicine, aiming to create implants and prosthetics that are specifically designed for the unique anatomy of each patient. Unlike standard products that may be modified for a better fit, Xilloc focuses on individualized solutions that bridge the gap between physicians and tailored, engineered products.
Their mission is to enhance the quality of life for patients by providing surgeons with exceptional, patient-specific implants. The journey of Xilloc began in 2003 when the Department of Cranio-Maxillofacial and Plastic Surgery at Maastricht University Hospital sought a solution for repairing large skull defects more effectively and aesthetically. This led to the development of the world's first 3D-printed titanium skull implant.
In 2006, young biomedical engineer Maikel Beerens took this innovative technology further and founded Xilloc, with the aim of making it accessible to surgeons worldwide. In the same year, Xilloc achieved another groundbreaking milestone by creating a 3D-printed titanium complete jaw implant. Through their commitment to patient-specific products and services, Xilloc continues to assist surgeons in providing individualized care that improves the lives of patients
