Young People for Progress

Young People for Progress (YPP) is a brand dedicated to creating political power among youth and young adults in Montgomery County, MD. Their mission is to work towards building a more just and equitable society. YPP offers a range of products and services to support their goals.

One of their core initiatives is advocating for police reform in Maryland. They believe that traffic stops should no longer be a police function and can be handled by civilian agencies such as the Department of Transportation. They also strongly argue against having police officers in schools, emphasizing that it creates an unsafe and detrimental environment for students, particularly those from Black and Latino communities.

YPP frequently hosts virtual and in-person rallies, collaborating with organizations like ACLU and the Maryland Coalition for Justice and Police Accountability (MCJPA).
