10th Planet Van Nuys is a premier no-gi jiu-jitsu academy located in the vibrant San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles. Headed by Eddie Bravo black belt, Alder Hampel, our academy offers a comprehensive program focusing on the fundamental principles of control and pressure. While 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu is renowned for its rubber guard and lockdown system, coach Alder emphasizes proper leverage and angles through attention to detail on the basics.
This approach ensures a strong foundation that will serve you well on your jiu-jitsu journey. 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu, developed by Eddie Bravo after earning his black belt, revolutionized Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu by creating a non-traditional system that is optimal for mixed martial arts competitions. The explosive growth of no-gi grappling worldwide, exemplified by organizations like the Eddie Bravo Invitational and Polaris, has elevated no-gi submission grappling to new heights.
