United Hatzalah is Israel’s national volunteer emergency medical service, bringing together more than 10,000 volunteers who respond to medical emergencies across the country. Using emergency motorcycles, ambulances and private vehicles, its responders provide rapid assistance around the clock; the organization reports an average arrival time of 90 seconds. Since its founding, volunteers have treated more than 7.5 million people, and patients are not charged for care. Donations help fund the medical equipment and resources that make this work possible.

The organization’s initiatives include supplying volunteers with advanced resuscitation equipment, pediatric emergency kits, protective gear and tactical emergency kits. Its Orange Angels Mobile offers sensitive, safe transportation to people facing serious illness so they can reach meaningful places and occasions. United Hatzalah also provides private ambulance services and event medical coverage, and runs a medical equipment shop selling defibrillators, first-aid kits and responder bags. Through volunteer programs, training and public information, the organization supports its responders and promotes emergency preparedness.
