123Villages is a free online collection devoted to vintage postcards depicting the towns and villages of France. The site invites visitors to take a journey through time, explore places connected to childhood memories, and discover the communities of their ancestors. Its extensive regional and departmental listings, alongside a search feature, help users browse postcards from across mainland France and its overseas territories. Images showcase local landmarks and everyday scenes, including churches, railway stations, and town halls.

The collection is presented as a virtual resource for anyone interested in French local history, family heritage, or the visual charm of old postcards. Visitors are also encouraged to contribute by scanning and sharing postcards from their own towns or villages, helping expand and improve the archive. 123Villages emphasizes remembrance and public access rather than commerce: it states that postcards are not for sale and does not accept purchase requests. The site also points visitors to Cartes-Postales-France.com, described as a newer site offering improved postcard presentation.
