Established in 2005, 126 Artist-Run Gallery is an artist-led, not-for-profit organisation based in Galway, Ireland. The gallery is part of the city’s visual arts ecology and cultural landscape, providing a space for exhibitions and events. Its programme features exhibitions and cultural activities, with listings published throughout the year. The organisation is run voluntarily by a rotating board of professional artists and curators, and receives support from Galway City Council, the Arts Council of Ireland and Culture Ireland.
126 Gallery also offers membership opportunities and invites visitors and supporters to contribute through donations. Contributions help maintain the space, develop programmes for members and visitors, and pay artists. The gallery is located at 15 St Bridget’s Place, Hidden Valley, Woodquay, Galway City. During exhibition periods, it is typically open Wednesday through Sunday, from noon to 6 p.m., and closed Monday and Tuesday; visitors are encouraged to check individual event listings or posts for confirmed opening times.
