1625 Independent People is a charity supporting young people who are homeless, leaving care or at risk of homelessness in the Southwest of England. Its work combines safe, stable accommodation with practical and emotional support, helping young people build the skills and relationships needed to flourish as independent adults. Services include accommodation, financial capability support, health and wellbeing assistance, relationship building, and help with education, employment and training.
The charity also promotes positive contribution, equality and diversity, and colleague development. Its website provides information and resources for young people, including a handbook and forms relating to accommodation charges and arrears. For professionals and supporters, 1625 Independent People offers DNA-V training and conversation toolkits, alongside opportunities to volunteer, mentor, fundraise, attend events or develop partnerships.
The organisation is also restoring Grade II* listed Kingsley Hall, with support from The National Lottery Heritage Fund, to create a hub for young people facing homelessness and leaving care
