16 Tech Innovation District

16 Tech Innovation District is a downtown Indianapolis community that brings together businesses, researchers, entrepreneurs, and institutions to advance innovation and economic opportunity. Developed by 16 Tech Community Corporation, the district connects more than 300 innovation-related organizations with the spaces, programs, resources, and partners that can help ideas move from research to market. Its focus includes life sciences, health technology, and advanced manufacturing.

The district offers office and laboratory facilities, infrastructure-ready development parcels, and specialized resources such as the Machyne Makerspace and EMC2, a manufacturing research and development facility. The HqO Innovation Hub combines flexible office space, meeting areas, amenities, and The AMP Food Hall + Marketplace, which features local food and retail concepts. Programs provide mentorship, networking, workshops, bioscience commercialization support, and workforce development opportunities. The district also connects members to research institutions, industry partners, startups, and talent across Indiana’s innovation ecosystem.
