Founded in 1848 by Yitzhak Galina-Shor, 1848 Winery is a family-owned winery located in the heart of the Old City of Jerusalem, nestled close to the Western Wall. With a rich winemaking tradition spanning eight generations, 1848 Winery is not only a testament to the history of Jerusalem but also to the wine industry in Israel. The Galina-Shor family has passed down their winemaking legacy from father to son, from generation to generation, since 1848.
Today, 1848 Winery produces a wide range of wines from the leading wine regions in Israel. Their collection includes the second-generation series, featuring 100% Shiraz; the fifth-generation series, a blend of 90% Cabernet Franc, 6% Petit Verdot, and 4% Merlot; and the seventh-generation series, showcasing 100% Argaman. Additionally, they offer their Reserve series, comprising 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Petit Sirah, and 4% Merlot.
